Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Cyrocob LLC (“we”, “us”), the maker of LockedIn. By creating a LockedIn account or using the app, you agree to these Terms and to ourPrivacy Policy. See also our Child Safety Standards. If you don’t agree, please don’t use LockedIn.

1. Who can use LockedIn

  • You must be at least 18 years old.
  • You must be legally able to agree to these Terms, and not barred from using the app under any applicable law.
  • You may have only one account, and the information you give us must be accurate and about you.

2. Your account

You are responsible for everything that happens on your account and for keeping access to your phone number and email secure. Tell us right away at contact@cyrocob.com if you think someone else is using your account.

3. Your content

You own the photos, profile details, messages and other content you post (“your content”). You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, display and transmit your content only as needed to run LockedIn, for example showing your profile to other users. This licence ends when you delete your content or your account, except for copies that remain in routine backups for a limited time.

You confirm that you have the right to post your content and that it follows these Terms.

4. Community rules

You agree not to:

  • Post content that is illegal, hateful, threatening, harassing, sexually explicit, violent or discriminatory.
  • Post photos of anyone other than yourself, or any content involving a minor.
  • Create a fake profile, impersonate anyone, or misrepresent your age or identity.
  • Harass, bully, stalk, threaten or intimidate other users.
  • Ask other users for money, promote products or services, or send spam.
  • Share another person’s private information without their consent.
  • Post content that infringes anyone’s copyright, trademark, privacy or other rights.

5. Zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users

LockedIn has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behaviour. You canreport or block any user from their profile or from your chat. Blocking stops all further contact between you and that user.

We review reports and act on them within 24 hours. We may remove content, and suspend or permanently ban users who break these rules, without notice. If you believe someone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first.

6. Prohibited uses

You agree not to:

  • Use LockedIn for anything illegal or for any commercial purpose.
  • Collect other users’ information, or access the app with bots, scrapers or other automated means.
  • Interfere with, disrupt or try to get around the security of the app or its servers.
  • Copy, modify, reverse engineer or resell any part of the app, except where the law allows it.

7. Your safety

We do not run criminal background checks or verify the identity of users, and we are not responsible for how users behave on or off the app. Use good judgement when talking to and meeting people: meet in public places, tell a friend your plans, and never send money to someone you have met on LockedIn.

8. Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time under Profile → Account Settings → Delete Account, or by following the steps on our account deletion page. We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms or if we need to protect other users or the service.

9. Disclaimers

LockedIn is provided “as is” and “as available”. We don’t promise that the app will always be available, error-free or secure, or that you will find a match. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, whether express or implied.

10. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from your use of LockedIn or your contact with other users. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

11. App stores

If you downloaded LockedIn from the Apple App Store or Google Play, these Terms are between you and us, not Apple or Google. Apple and Google are not responsible for the app, its content, maintenance, support, or any claims relating to it. Your use of the app must also follow the app store’s own terms. For iOS users, Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, USA, and applicable US federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled by the state or federal courts located in Maryland, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim in your local courts.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date above, and for significant changes we will let you know in the app. If you keep using LockedIn after changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms.
